Bed and Breakfast between
Albany and Porongurup National Park
Western Australia

CHARNIGUP FARM is a small, intimate bed and breakfast in a unique earth-brick house on a 100 acre cattle property 20 minutesCharnigup House north east of Albany and ideally located as a base for you to explore a wide range of coastal and mountain attractions.

Our tranquil home overlooks spectacular scenery across rolling countryside to the Porongurup and Stirling Ranges.

Charmaine and Nigel invite you to share in their enjoyment of the results of a 'labour of love', having built the earth-brick homestead, including your bed and breakfast accommodation, themselves (even the bricks!) from environmentally friendly materials.  Charnigup Farm is an eco-friendly establishment.  We are acutely aware of global warming and do our best to adopt energy-saving strategies, such as a heat pump for hot water, solar pump, energy saving light bulbs, water conservation and anti-evaporative techniques in the garden. We are careful to ensure that none of these measures affects the comfort of our guests.

Our bird filled cottage garden delights visitors, who are constantly enchanted by close up views of our colourful native birds such as blue wrens and scarlet robins. Birds are encouraged to make their homes in carefully planned habitats of native flora. You may like to sit in the gazebo and admire the sweeping views or make use of our gas barbecue.

Whatever your interests, your hosts hope to provide you with all you require to make your visit to the Albany region of Western Australia totally satisfying and memorable.

Hakea laurinaThe diversity of wildflowers* in the Albany region is unsurpassed; both the garden and surrounding countryside and national parks offer opportunities for viewing and photographing these wonders of nature.
